Aentee over at Read At Midnight is an amazing person that is doing awesome things. So give her a follow. Plus she’s done an excellent job of exampling what the #DAReadAThon is all about. I’m just here to tell you what books I hope read and finish during this awesome event.
So without further ado here are the books I plan on reading during the 2 week readathon. Maybe you’ll fight a book to add to your ever growing tbr along the way.
This is a tough one for me because I’m not all about getting too personal but for this book I’m going with Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow
With all the books I have I can say my collection is lacking in the Transgender department. I recently read When the Moon was Ours and adored it so I want to continue reading about the Transgender experience.
So I chose If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo.
It’s time that I get to this book. Heard nothing but great wonderful things about Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson and this readathon is the perfect opportunity to cut into my ARCs that are piling up. Plus with the recent events concerning the Justice System, this book is perfect.
Plus I’m all about supporting #OwnVoices
Not much of an expert when it comes to Feminist books. I don’t think there are any on my shelf but thanks to twitter I was able to find one that I can read for this readathon.
Thanks to @SC_Author I’ll be reading Assata by Assata Shakur
Well this is an easy one for me. Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed has been on my shelf since forever collecting dust. It’s time I read this marvelous book.
Again I heard great things about this beautiful book. I thrilled to finally read it. Been a long time coming.
Since I’ve The Sun is Also A Star, I have to pick something else. Technically, this book isn’t out yet but there is quite an amount of buzz going around.
So for this pick I choose American Street by Ibi Zoboi
I was recommended this book by the lovely @Blissfully-ReadBrit I think it’s time that I read at least one in the series. Also it’s pretty short which is good if I’m trying to read all of these books during this fun ass Readathon.
Oh the book is Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones
