We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach (creatyvebooks.com)

Back at it again with the #FUCKTHISBOOKFRIDAY. Today I bring you a book that I really fucking hate. In fact I was hoping I wouldn’t remember how much I hated this book but lo and behold amazon with their damn recommendation tried to recommend this book to base on previous books I purchased from them in the past. To make a long story short, I did a review of this book and you can see what I really thought about it right here.

Anyways the book is We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach. My hate for this book runs deeps. Not only do I think it was contrived and the author tried too hard to portray what he thought teenagers talked and behave like. On top of that I couldn’t get pass the stereotypes. Look the color of my skin by society standards is a problem. I don’t need to read about misconceptions and labels when I read fiction. I deal with that enough already.

But the worse offense was the way he treated his character Eliza and her views on sex. Seriously, there was a scene where she is raped and thinking is that it’s okay. That this is what all guys wants and she should give it to them because in her words it’s “like charity”.

BULLSHIT!!!

I’m but with all the misconceptions about sex out there (because the lack of SEX ED in schools) I don’t think young girls or boys for that matter should read something like that and think that this is okay. By no means is this a healthy image of what sex is about. But I digress.

If you want to read this bullshit, by all means go ahead and read. I in my heart can’t recommend this shitty ass book.
